Royal Power Contributes to the Completion of Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft—First Boeing 737 MAX Delivered

On December 15, the delivery ceremony for the first Boeing 737 MAX was held at the Boeing Completion and Delivery Center in Zhoushan. More than 700 guests and representatives from across the world gathered to witness the historic moment of the delivery of Air China's first Boeing 737 MAX. The ceremony was attended by Kevin McAllister, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes; Zhao Yuerang, General Manager of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC); Ma Chongxian, Executive Vice President of Air China; Yu Donglai, Secretary of the CPC Zhoushan Municipal Committee; Sean Stein, Consul General of the U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai; Yin Shijun, Chief Engineer of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC); Ren Zhiwu, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC); and Feng Fei, Member of the Standing Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province. Yang Mei, Project Director, and Li Nan, Lead Design Engineer of the Aircraft Engineering Design and Research Institute of China Aviation Planning and Design Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. (CAPDI), attended the event as representatives of the project's design institute.


The Boeing 737 MAX Completion and Delivery Center was planned and designed by CAPDI. It is Boeing's first such facility overseas, covering more than 40 hectares, with a site area of 402,667 m². Its principal buildings include the delivery center, the completion center, a paint hangar and associated auxiliary facilities, with a designed capacity to complete approximately 100 737 MAX aircraft per year. Only 19 months elapsed from the groundbreaking to the completion of the first delivery.
In addition to Chinese national codes, the project design meets the consulting and review requirements of Bureau Veritas and the requirements of the LEED manual: the No. 101 Delivery Center meets LEED Gold requirements and the Three-Star standard for civil green buildings; the No. 102 Completion Center meets LEED Silver requirements; and the No. 102 Completion Center and the No. 103 Paint Hangar meet the One-Star standard for industrial green buildings.


In 2017, the Royal Power brand was selected for the project. Given the tight schedule, heavy workload and the requirement for LEED green building certification, the company set up a dedicated project team to coordinate and track every stage—design, production, inspection and commissioning—and supported on-site commissioning and acceptance unit by unit. All equipment met the acceptance criteria of professional third-party testing institutions, providing a solid guarantee for the delivery of the project.

Today, this proven technology is finally demonstrating its full potential by serving the aviation sector. The Boeing 737 MAX Completion and Delivery Center project is another landmark achievement for Royal Power, following Beijing New Airport. In the aviation sector, Royal Power has completed a number of airport projects at home and abroad, including Tianjin Binhai International Airport, Changchun Longjia International Airport, Kunming Changshui International Airport, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and Malabo International Airport in Equatorial Guinea.
